Welcome to Timeless Beauty with Sandy~

Thank you for taking the time to stop and visit my blog.  I wanted to share a little about myself and how I started my Avon journey so that others can see, we can start a new business, project or adventure at any age.

My name as in the title of my blog is Sandy and many of you may know me from my Youtube channel Serendipities Closet. And if you know me from my channel that is great!  I am happy to have to follow my new adventure.  For those of you that are new to my blog, welcome and I am happy to have you join me.

My new adventure with Avon is because as I said, many of you already know me from my YouTube channel and Facebook I am a recent breast cancer survivor and financially it has broke me to my knees.  After almost 2 years of trying to recover from treatment, I realized that I had to think of my future. 

What will I do if I have to fight this beast again?

Who will take care of me financially?

How will I pay for my insurance and medical bills?

What if my current employer decides to let me go

 because I need time off?

My life as I knew it was over.  I had new things I had to think about for my future and perhaps it is a blessing in disguise.  Just as I thought I was living the dream opening my own boutique Serendipities Closet in an upscale neighborhood, where I invested everything I worked so hard for all my life.....in the blink of any eye it was all gone.  I did not even have the chance to open the door to my business when my health problems began.  One thing after another with 2 detached retina in my right eye and weeks to heal.  Another few weeks go by and shingles head around my eye and of course the same eye where my retina kept detaching.  And let's not forget the poison ivy that swept over my body that whole summer.  Unfortunately, my immune system was shutting down. And before I knew it......I found a lump under my left arm on my breast the size of a golf ball.  To say it brought me to knees was any understatement.  I was in the shower and I literally got on my knees and cried my heart out because in my heart, I KNEW it was breast cancer!

Of course the thought crossed my mind to let it go until after the holidays.  It was late summer as we were heading into Fall and I heard this little voice in my head that said, "If you don't do this now and get yourself checked out, you are going to be in serious trouble!"  And so my journey began to fight for my life and give up everything I knew.........

As I was trying to figure things out this past 2 years, getting back to work has not been easy.  Right after my treatment ended in 2018, my body was still so weak from 18 rounds of chemo, surgery and 30 rounds of radiation, I start to do deliveries as an independent contractor so I could work when I felt well enough to leave the house.  I had applied for so many jobs but when you have a 2.5 year gap on your resume, you need to tell you story and unfortunately many employers are worried about their business and not your well being.  I am starting a new job and I am excited to start the new adventure of selling and designing with tile BUT I know I need to do something more.  Something that is going to bring me income 24/7.  Something that could actually bring me back to life. After reading how Avon supports the American Cancer Society and those battling breast cancer, I thought 
"I think this is it!"
